There is a Buzz in the air around Golden, a Positive Buzz and it feels good! Summer is in full swing with Live Kicks presentations, the recent RCMP Musical Ride (you can still catch them all over BC during August) and of course the Farmers Market every Wednesday, the vibe is happy and the sun is shining and what a beautiful place to live.


Real Estate wise the sun seems to be bringing out potential buyers and sellers and we are seeing a marked increase in showings and listings, a few offers are in on properties including Lot #23 1313 Campbell Road, and 849 Crandall Road, we also have an accepted offer on 503 & 504 10th Street and plenty of enquiries coming in. Showings of 1508 14th Avenue South, 1332 Selkirk Drive, (which has also now reduced in price from $432,000 to $409,000) and 805 10th Street.

The Ski hill market is still a little slow but we think NOW is one of the best times to purchase a ski hill home as the prices are low and buy now before the new HST charges come into effect(increasing your purchase price by 7%), we would also like to give a FREE Ski pass to anyone purchasing a Ski Hill Home from us(see wwww.century21golden.com for details.

The market seem to be getting busier, I showed 805 10th twice and 1508 14th Ave in the last week, 1508 is also getting another showing tomorrow along with 1332 Selkirk Drive, the in town market seems to be really picking up the pace. 1311 Sekirk Drive is SOLD and 614 8th Street is also SOLD (not my listing but my clients).

#7, #21 and #22 Whispering pines #19, #22, and #25 Aspens were shown at the ski hill, but these clients have put in an offer on a home south of town, if this does not work out they might look at ski hill properties #21 WP being the favourite.

At the Ski hill they have added a climbing wall/rock for the kids, and Mountain Biking is in full swing

The HWY #1 East of Golden eventually will be 4 laned from the Calgary Airport to Golden, although this might take 5-10 years the work on the next 5 or so km is going well.

My wife and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary on Mount 7 yesterday (where we got married 2 years ago on 7th July 2007). The weather was not as good as it was on our wedding day but as ever the views are spectacular - see picture.
